Now, like any other thing around the world and in the laws of physics, we all know that the more strength something has, the better it can get its job done. And same goes for the mighty winch. More its pulling power, the faster it can get your vehicle out of the ditch. 

Now there are certain ways you help make your winch pull with greater power than it already does. We will look into a few of them. Before we get into them, we should educate ourselves on what a snatch block is. 

Snatch blocks, sometimes known as pulley blocks, are a sort of pulley. That is to say, it is something that is used for pulling jobs. A side plate on the snatch block swings opens over the pulley to allow the winch cable to pass through. This aids you by allowing you to simply thread your winch cable through the open without difficulty. 

A snatch block primarily serves two purposes. If you have an offset anchor point, one of them can assist you in changing the cable’s direction. Second, the pulling power of your winch nearly doubles compared to normal.

The Straight Pull

Doubling your winch’s pull power

As we already know that snatch blocks can double the pulling power of your winch, let’s dive deeper to learn how exactly we can do so. 

Firstly, make sure all your equipment is built for the extra power you intend to exert for more weight. Once you are sure that they are okay, then look for a tree to use as your anchor point. Then you will want to wrap your strap around that anchor point and tighten it.

After that, grab the winch cable and wrap it around the winch first. Then, spool the winch wire and carry it to your anchor point. At this point, check to see if your winch cable is in good working order. Instead of going through the bother of turning on the motor and checking, you can accomplish it simply by free spooling.
